Situation: Outlook 2010 clients connected to Exchange 2007 server.

After a repair of the exchange database some outlook clients give the message:

"Preparing outlook for first use. (5%) Retrieving mailbox settings...

And this message does not disappear anymore. 

OWA mail works fine so it must be outlook or client related.

Things I have tried:

remove the ost file in the user profile 

remove the mail profile from the client pc 

So if anyone has any idea that would be much appreciated ;-)

I would like to know what was the procedure to repair the mailbox database?

Is it just the soft recovery or the Hard Repair?

In case you performed a Hard repair using the command: eseutil /p, then I would like to know if you had a chance to complete the process of running eseutil /d and isinteg.... It is necessary to complete it in one go. Else we might have issues like this. please have the copy of the db safe before running defrag i.e eseutil /d.

As additional, how about add another mailbox account to computer? Also, try run Outlook with safe mode to prevent add-ins effects.
